Welcome

If you are interested in photography, then Peterborough Photographic Society is suitable for beginners and experienced photographers alike. It meets regularly most Tuesdays throughout the season at 7:30pm (from Sept 5th 2017 to May 8th 2018) in a well equiped club room at the Parkway Sports & Social Club (directions here). Enjoy a full programme of quality guest speakers, practical demonstrations, internal and external competitions, an Annual Exhibition, photographic trips and some lively social events.

Visitors and new members are always welcome with no obligation to join for the first few visits. Come along and visit PPS in the comfort of our clubroom, which has its own bar, and make new friends. See how you can improve your photographic skills. Get help and advice from more experienced photographers.

COMP.6 PDI Results and full results from the season

18 Members entered 54 PDI images and the top 20 scores are 'Black Hairstreak' from Peter Malton and' Morning Hare' from Ian Haskell. The judge was Alan Young FRPS.EFIAP.DPAGB AND BPE4*. This is now the end of season for all the internal Competition entries and the Print Competition was won by Ian Haskell and very close by Stuart Ball and Colin Bradshaw. The PDI Winner also came from Ian Haskell and was joined by Peter Malton. The Comp6. results and the full competition results are on display with the top 20 pictures.

Bill Dunn Memorial - Creative Competition 2018

It hardly seems a year since the last Bill Dunn Memorial competition. However, the entries rolled in from members of eight local clubs. The judge this year was Sarah Kelman A.R.P.S. of Cambridge who had a very clear idea of what that word creative means. She was looking for that "something special" in the idea behind the image, whether it was projected or a print.

Graham Williams of City CC won the coveted first place with "Green Energy", looking after the hand carved trophy for one year. He also had a Commended award for his print "A World of Images".

COMP.5 Print Results

18 members entered 54 prints in the Comp.5 print competition and judged by David Jordan FRPS. Congratulations for the top 20 scores which went to. 'Enigmatic' by Colin Bradshaw CPAGB.BPE2*. Peter Malton with 'Chalkhill Blue on Knapweed' and Ian Haskell with 'Glen Etive Sunset Reflections'. As the print competitions have now finished this season Ian Haskell has won, Stuart Ball came second and Colin Bradshaw came third and the full results are here as well.

Photo Hunt 2018

On January 9th this year's Photo Hunt was judged by Rex Makesom on his first visit to PPS for the first evening of 2018. The five teams who entered were Going Solo, Photogenic, The Malton Mafia, Fen Country and Routemaster. Choosing your team name is where the fun starts.

Ten images are entered in some rather strange categories like "things organised neatly", "a PDI that includes one of your vices" and "an in between moment". There are twenty categories to choose from.
