It hardly seems a year since the last Bill Dunn Memorial competition. However, the entries rolled in from members of eight local clubs. The judge this year was Sarah Kelman A.R.P.S. of Cambridge who had a very clear idea of what that word creative means. She was looking for that "something special" in the idea behind the image, whether it was projected or a print.
Graham Williams of City CC won the coveted first place with "Green Energy", looking after the hand carved trophy for one year. He also had a Commended award for his print "A World of Images".
Denis Pegram of Pinchbeck had "An Artist's Impression" Highly Commended. Sue Fifer of Swavesey was also awarded Highly Commended for "Dali and Me", along with Neil Malton of Peterborough who was awarded Highly Commended for "Orchid Impression"
In addition to "A World of Images", the other Commended entries were "More Amber", a print by Martin Smart of Wisbech and "Snowdrop Impression" a projected image by Peter Malton of Peterborough.
The entries, as usual will be made into a straightforward audio visiual presentation by Jim Hartje of Peterborough so that every entrant will receive their individual copy of this year's work.
Thanks to everyone who helped with this year's events and also to everyone who entered. This year matched the highest number of entries from a few years ago. I look forward to seeing even more entries next year.
